The walls and ceiling are a very soft textured finish that has been designed by C. W. Tilley.
This type of finish will go with any decor. When painted the textured areas reflect light differently than the areas that were not. This gives the appearance of two colors, one softer than the other.
One great feature of this type of finish is that if it gets damaged, it can be repaired, and you will never be able to see any flaws. Another feature is that it adds to the walls & ceiling, between 1/8" and 1/4" thickness, so it is a lot stronger than just drywall.
This texture finish can be applied over plastered walls to add a different look, or the walls & ceiling can be skim coated, to a smooth finish and you will have a durable finish that will last for years to come.
